Daily tiffin delivery, explained

8 April 2026 · 7 min read · For riders

Tiffin delivery is the cheapest service on the platform, and the reason is simple: it is the same route, at the same time, every single weekday. A driver who has already worked out the traffic on that stretch can add your container to a run they are doing anyway. Nothing else we carry is that predictable.

How a repeating run gets set up

There is no separate subscription to sign. You book once, describe the pattern in the note, and agree the repeat directly with the driver in chat:

  1. Choose Tiffin delivery in the rider portal.
  2. Put the collection address and the delivery address in as pickup and drop-off.
  3. In the note, write the days and the time window — for example, "Monday to Friday, collect 11:40, deliver by 12:30".
  4. Message the driver and ask for a weekly or monthly price rather than a per-trip price. This is where the real saving is.
  5. Once you agree, that thread becomes your standing arrangement. Message the same driver when anything changes.

What a fair rate looks like

A per-trip tiffin price is already low. A monthly price should be lower again, because the driver gets guaranteed income and can plan the rest of the day around it.

ArrangementTypical positionWhy
One-off deliveryFull tiffin rateDriver plans a trip specifically for you
Weekly, five daysAround 10–15% below five single tripsPredictable, but still short commitment
Monthly, twenty-two daysAround 20–30% below the single-trip totalGuaranteed income; driver builds their day around it
Two containers, same routeSmall addition, not doubleSame drive, same stop

If you and a colleague both order from the same kitchen, negotiate together. Two tiffins on one run is the single best deal available on this platform, and drivers like it because it is one stop.

Keeping food warm and intact

Say "keep it upright, it leaks" once, in chat, and you will never have to say it again — every driver on the platform sees the note before they accept.

Handling the days it changes

Real life interrupts a daily run constantly. Handle it in the chat thread the night before, not at 11:40 the next morning:

Why not a food delivery app?

Food apps are built around restaurants — a merchant listing, a commission, a courier pool that changes every order. A tiffin run is the opposite: one kitchen, often a home kitchen, one recipient, one driver who learns the route and the building and the security desk. Doing it with a taxi driver you can message directly is cheaper, warmer on arrival, and considerably less frustrating on the day something changes.
